Homilius was the most important Protestant church composer in Germany in the years following the death of J.S. Bach. He composed a great deal of church music: organ works, about 60 motets, more than 200 sacred cantatas as well as Magnificat settings, Passion music and oratorios.

Friendship Song : Czech Canon

The Friendship Song, arranged here by Doreen Rao, was first taught to the Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus by their Czechoslovakian hosts, the Jitro Children's Choir. Over 200 children from Czechoslovakia and the United Statessang together, exchanging songs on a warm summer morning in the quiet countryside. The Friendship Song has been arranged for 4-part Treble Voices, unaccompanied.

Peter Sculthorpe: The Stars Turn

This piece is a reduction for voice and piano of the fourth part of the composer's Love 200. This ambitious work for two vocalists, rock group and orchestra was first performed in 1970 and was written to commemorate Captain Cook's journey to to plot the transit of Venus in 1770, a voyage that led to the discovery of Australia.

RR Bennett: Carol for SATB Chorus

Carol For Unaccompanied Voices was written in 2000. It was commissioned by the BBC for the BBC Singers, and is scored for SATB chorus. The words are taken from a poem by W. R. Rodgers . Richard Rodney Bennett (1936-2012) was a British composer who lived and worked in New York. During his lifetime, he was one of Britain’s most respected and versatile composers, remaining fresh and popular throughout his long life and after his death. He wrote over 200 works for the concert hall and 50 scores for film and television. He was knighted for services to music in 1998.
