Som stora fans av Jim Hensons The Dark Crystal (1982) är Weta Workshop glada över att dyka in i Thras värld och skapa förstklassiga samlarföremål för denna ikoniska film. Skeksisarna har förblivit åtskilda från sina andra halvor, urRu, alltför länge; endast genom att reparera Sanningens Kristall kan balansen återställas till Thras värld. Det faller på gelflingarna Jen och Kira, de sista i sitt slag, att uppfylla den gamla profetian.
Bland de många märkliga och underbara varelserna i Thra tornade sig de milda landstridarna ovanför, och valde sig tyst längs skogsstigar på pålliknande lemmar.
Långa, eleganta varelser, Landstriders smuttade nektar med långa tungor; deras trådliknande morrhår och ryckningar i öronen är alltid uppmärksamma på tecken på fara. De samlades i små flockar och kunde försvara sina ungar med kraftfulla sparkar från sina stela ben, men en Landstriders största försvar var dess snabbhet. På öppen mark kunde en Landstrider springa som vinden och tillryggalägga stora avstånd i ett enormt tempo.
I sin strävan efter att läka den mörka kristallen, bad Jen och Kira en familj av de långbenta varelserna att hjälpa dem med färja över de enorma ödsliga ödemarkerna som omger Skeksis-slottet. Landstriders försvarade också sina Gelfling-ryttare, och kämpade modigt mot en hord av slavbärande Garthim trots att de var i undertal. Modigt kämpade de och slog till med sparkar och smällar tills oddsen övervann dem, och köpte Jen och Kira den tid de behövde för att befria Podling-fångarna och fly.

As huge fans of Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal (1982), Weta Workshop is excited to dive into the world of Thra and create premium collectibles for this iconic film. The Skeksis have remained separated from their other halves, the urRu, for too long; only by repairing the Crystal of Truth can balance be restored to the world of Thra. It falls to the Gelflings Jen and Kira, the last of their kind, to fulfil the ancient prophecy.
Amongst the many strange and wonderous creatures of Thra, the gentle Landstriders towered above, picking their way quietly along forest paths on stilt-like limbs.
Tall, elegant beings, Landstriders sipped nectar with long tongues; their thread-like whiskers and twitching ears ever alert for signs of danger. Gathering in small herds, they could defend their young with powerful kicks from their rigid legs, but a Landstrider's greatest defence was its speed. On open ground a Landstrider could run like the wind, covering vast distances at a tremendous pace.
In their quest to heal the Dark Crystal, Jen and Kira called upon a family of the long-legged creatures to help ferry them cross the vast desolate wastes surrounding the Skeksis castle. The Landstriders also defended their Gelfling riders, bravely battling a horde of slave-bearing Garthim despite being outnumbered. Courageously they fought, lashing out with kicks and thrashes until the odds overcame them, buying Jen and Kira the time they needed to free the Podling captives and escape.

The three different sized circular bases across our 1:6 scale Dark Crystal range represent the Three Suns in the skies of Thra; the dying sun, rose sun, and great sun. Familiar iconography from the floor of the Crystal Chamber is featured around the outside. Spy the symbols of the urSkek, which have since been appropriated as signs of discord and Skeksis aggression.
