Platero Y Yo (Platero and I) is a suite of eight short works inspired by a set of poems that Nobel Prize-winning author Juan Ramón Jiménez.wrote about a donkey, and his home region of Andalusia. The words of the poems are to be read over the performance of the witty, modern Andalusian-inspired music. It is a charming work that has performed and recorded many times.Composer and Guitarist Eduardo Sainz De La Maza was a twentieth century Spanish composer, brother of the better known Regino Sainz De La Maza. This suite is his most famous work, along with Campanas del Alba.
