Rise of the Owlverlord is a standalone expansion pack to the Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams arcade game, created by experienced designers from the independent German studio Black Forest Games. The production is an attempt to revive the cult legend, modeled on Super Mario Bros platformer from 1987, set in a fantastic dream by two sisters: Giana and Maria. The authors' intention of Project Giana (because that was the name of the game at an early stage of production) was not to be just an ordinary remake. Using the general concept of the original, the developers made many significant changes to the mechanics of the game, which gave it a completely new character. The most important novelty was the resignation of the two sisters in favor of one, Giana, whose dual nature allowed her to transform from a girl lost in a dream into a punk rebel and vice versa. Along with the transformation of the heroine, we move from the polite, candy world to its nightmarish counterpart, using its specific abilities in each of them. Rise of the Owlverlord expands the base game with 7 new levels, another boss, an instructional level and a completely new story. The graphic design has remained the same in terms of style, but in terms of music, we get completely new pieces by Chris Hülsbeck and the Machinae Supremacy band. The new Steam achievements and full controller support have not been forgotten either. The add-on will allow us to spend the next several dozen minutes with Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.

Meanwhile, valuable deposits have been found at the edge of the solar system - thanks to them it will be possible to develop new technologies and defeat competition. A conflict begins, dubbed the "Jupiter Incident" . Gameplay In the game we play the role of a young, but ambitious captain of the legendary ship Stiletto - Marcus Cromwell. Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is referred to by the developers as TFS, or Tactical Fleet Simulator, due to the general nature of the game. During the virtual struggle, we mainly decide on the tactics of our fleet of starships, and for the successful completion of a given scenario, we receive remuneration, which we can then spend on necessary repairs, various upgrades or the expansion of ships with new elements. The whole is based on the great, proprietary Black Sun graphics engine - the events are presented in full three dimensions, ship models and various visual effects present a high level of performance. The atmospheric soundtrack is also noteworthy. Story The action takes place in the city of Ravensdale, where traditional fantasy realities have been supplemented with modern technology based on internal combustion engines, creating a cocktail commonly known as dieselpunk. While playing, we learn about the history of the metropolis and try to save it from destruction, while completing a large set of side missions. The plot revolves around the conflict between human knights and orcs. We can go through the campaign alone or in cooperation mode for up to four players. Gameplay he game resembles a two-dimensional platformer in which the emphasis is primarily on combat. During the clashes, we mainly use firearms and we design and then modify its individual types, freely choosing different parts. In this way, we not only influence the strength of the damage dealt, but also the way the projectiles behave, e.g. by equipping them with impressive ricochets or incendiary properties. Many opponents also have different machines and can modify them to a large extent, thus forcing us to frequently change tactics. In Rogue Stormers, the key element is the so-called Arc Connector, which consists of an indestructible, hanging generator that powers players' armor. Thanks to it, characters can increase the effectiveness of their weapons or absorb enemy orbs, and then transform them into energy, causing area damage and stunning a large group of enemies. It also plays a vital role in organizing cooperation between players, allowing them to reinforce each other's attacks. The missions themselves have a more interesting structure than the typical " go to A and kill everything that moves ". Instead, we receive specific tasks, such as sabotaging, freeing a prisoner or performing a murder on a specific opponent. In addition, our successes or failures dynamically affect the situation in the entire city and the shape of subsequent missions.
