Pine furniture will have knots and other natural features in the timber which is a natural characteristic of the wood and will not compromise the strength of your furniture. This bench has been dip treated with a preservative to protect it and extend its life-span. Your bench can be used immediately and left outside in all types of weather.
The bench can be used in its natural state or it can be painted or stained. It is recommended that a water repellent preservative is applied at the end of summer and then annually to maintain the natural appearance and stop mould forming during cold and wet months, but this is optional as your bench can be easily cleaned using just soapy water. More severe stains can be removed with any normal cleaning fluid or if needed you can refresh the entire surface with a light sanding using a medium grit sandpaper.
The picnic table can be used immediately and left outside where it will last for years to come. We would recommend an annual application of a water repellent preservative, although this is optional. It can be cleaned easily with soapy water if needed.
The picnic table top has a 40mm diameter parasol hole to accommodate our 2.5m garden parasols (sold separately) , so you and your family can enjoy the summer without having to worry about protecting yourself from the sun.
