Italian Cypress Tree Totem Pole Gift Wrapped

Italian Cypress Tree Totem Pole Gift Wrapped

If you've ever travelled around the Mediterranean, you will surely have seen Italian Cypress Trees dotted on hills and in formal gardens, particularly along the south or in Italian regions. Instantly recognisable for a tall, slender form, they're breathtaking, wonderfully elegant, and even supplied here as a big, established statement tree, standing at least 2m tall!'Totem Pole' is a naturally narrow variety with dense growth that emerges arrow-straight. These trees are completely hardy in the UK and evergreen, so look magnificent through the year. Preferring a sunny location and well-drained soil, they're tolerant of drought and are all-round very easy to look after, even growing reasonably quickly.Although the branches of this Cupressus semperviren grow vertically without training, it will benefit from regular clipping, in the same way as most other conifers do. The more it is clipped, the tighter and denser it will become. This also reduces the risk of any branches falling out of shape, particularly under a blanket of snow. Any branches that do bend can be pruned out or tied back into position.Italian Cypress Trees bring a classic Mediterranean look to the garden, spectacular in groups and borders, adding height without taking up too much space. They even thrive in large pots on a terrace or either side of a door or gate. This graceful beauty always draws admiring glances, only getting better with age!Supplied as an established tree, 200-225cm tall in a 35 litre pot, ready to plant. An ideal present for a loved one, this plant arrives gift wrapped in a brown hessian bag, complete with a green fabric bow, ready to gift. Please note: Delivery may take up to 14 days for this product. The approximate listed height of this variety and dimensions of the supplied nursery pot are subject to change on delivery, depending on seasonal conditions.

Ornamental grasses are currently enjoying incredible popularity as both seasoned and novice gardeners alike discover the incredible and ever-increasing range of varieties available, and Imperata 'Red Baron', better known as Blood Grass, has to be one of the most striking!Originating in Korea, Japan, China and India, this exotic beauty is one of the smaller grasses, reaching a height of about 50 cm, it is nonetheless stunningly striking. Between June and August, clusters of fluffy, silvery flowers appear, adding yet more visual interest. Try it dotted around a gravel or rock garden or in a pot so that you can get up close and admire it.Growing in full sun will give the best colouring, although it will be fine in partial shade. As a deciduous grass, it will die back in winter and should be cut back to ground level in February, but don't worry, you'll see brand new shoots in March, heralding the arrival of spring and a new season of amazing colour!Supplied as an established plant in a 17 cm pot, ready to plant out, growing to a height of 50 cm (20 in) and spread of 30 cm (1 ft).
