Arrow Bamboo gets its name from the shape of its leaves – which can reach lengths of 25cm and end with a long thin point. It is a “clump-forming” bamboo, meaning its roots should be controlled to prevent unwanted spreading. The canes of Arrow Bamboo are hollow and cut-offs make excellent stake-supports for your delicate climbing plants. Loose clusters of brown flowers may appear at any time of the year.

Traditionally from Asia, its hardiness means it can actually be grown very easily in Britain – visitors to your garden will be surprised and impressed to see it there.
