Ziton ZP755W-R Addressable Weatherproof Sounder

Ziton ZP755W-R Addressable Weatherproof Sounder

Ziton ZP755W Addressable Weatherproof SounderThe ZP755W-2R is an addressable weatherproof sounder designed for use on ZP7 compatible addressable fire detection and alarm systems. The sounder is developed for outdoor applications or for use in areas where the ingress of water can be expected e.g. where hygiene requirements demand regular washing of the protected area.Installed onto and powered by the detection loop the ZP755 series gives the system designer the flexibility to offer a complete addressable system on 2 wires. Installation costs are thereby greatly reduced whilst system integrity sounder options and programmed alarm organisation are maintained.Self TestThe high efficiency acoustic design together with a low energy sound gun transducer provides a forward sound dispersion with an output of up to 95 dBA. A volume control is included for areas where a reduced sound output is required. The volume control can limit the sound output by up to 75 of the full output volume. The ZP755 series features a unique self test facility which is automatically activated during sounder testing. A built in microphone measures the SPL and automatically flags the sounder address and location to the control panel should volume fall below the expected test level.FlexibilityIn systems with long loop lengths or high current requirements ZP755 sounders may be powered from an external power supply. All ZP755 sounders incorporate switch settings enabling them to be assigned a unique address which is polled by the panel every 2 seconds. Continuous intermittent and two-tone outputs are available from which any combination can be chosen to provide alert and evacuate two stage alarms. All sound types comply with BS5839 Part 1 recommended frequencies.Sounder enclosures are of molded high impact red thermoplastic designed for surface wiring.Key FeaturesIP33C rated for outdoor applicationsUser configurable tone selection facilitates alarm differentiation90 dBA sound pressure output levels for wide application coverageAutomatic self test facility ensuring that the device is always operationalHigh efficiency sound gun transducer ensures low current consumption for better power distribution and loop loadingEN543 approved and CPR certified

The highly reliable D-A-F has been thestandard for over 75 years. The D-A-F is used for signaling overheat or fireconditions. In most applications the D-A-F provides the initial heat sensingthat is used to activate suppression systems using clean agent CO2 inertgases wet or dry chemicals or water.D-A-F detectors are widely accepted because they aredesigned with rate compensation. This provides a unique advantage over bothfixed temperature and rate-of-rise types of detectors because the D-A-Fdetector accurately senses the surrounding air temperature regardless of thefire growth rate. At the pre-determined set point the system is activated.Fixed temperature detectors must be completely heated to alarm temperature andtherefore a lag in response time may occur with a fast rate fire. Rate-of-risedevices on the other hand are triggered by the rate of increase in ambienttemperature and are subject to false alarms caused by harmless transientthermal gradients such as the rush of warm air from process ovens. The key to the detectors sensitivity is in the design. Theouter shell is made of a rapidly expanding alloy which closely follows changesin surrounding air temperature. The inner struts are made of a slower expandingalloy. Designed to resist thermal energy absorption and sealed inside theshell the struts follow temperature changes more slowly. A slow rate fire willheat the shell and struts together. At the set point the detectorwill trigger actuating the alarm or releasing the extinguishant.A transient rush of warm air up to 40Fmin. may expand theshell while not triggering the detector. By ignoring transient warm airexcursions the D-A-F detector virtually eliminates false alarms prevalent withrate-of-rise devices. If a fast rate fire starts the shell will expandrapidly. The struts will close actuating the alarm andor releasing the agent. The faster the fire rate of growth the sooner the D-A-F detector will react.
