Undertale is an independent RPG game. The production was created by Toby Fox - a designer and self-taught composer. Additional artistic support was Temmie Chang, responsible for most of the concept art and sprites. Undertale was created with the GameMaker: Studio tool. The style is kept in the atmosphere of 8-bit retro games, and the musician composed by the author - as many as 100 different songs - brings to mind the era of two-dimensional RPGs from NES.
Story
Long ago, two races: humans and monsters ruled the Earth, coexisting in peace. Eventually, however, a conflict broke out, which resulted in a long and cruel war. The humans were victorious and by magic brought the monsters underground. Years later, a girl, regardless of the legends circulating, sets off to Ebott - a mountain from which no one has yet returned. Looking for shelter from the rain, he falls into a mysterious hole. This is where the Undertale action begins.
During the game, we find ourselves in the underground world full of monsters, but after a few minutes we can realize that they are not just hordes of mindless enemies that the game throws us in the course of successive obstacles to overcome. Undertale is a storytelling production where the story is the essence of the whole experience. One of the key elements are very expressive characters. The user is offered a fairly unique combination of styles. On the one hand, he is involved in a rather serious story, full of twists, heavy topics and secrets. On the other hand, the writing style itself is extremely original and filled with somewhat eccentric, self-aware humor combining visual jokes, witty dialogues, funny situations and bizarre behavior of "opponents" . Sometimes the name of the character is the same as the name of the font used in his statements, sometimes it turns out that the big bad boss gets information about horrible people from at least a comic source. This makes it very difficult to find a boring moment in Undertale .
