English Holly Hedge
An evergreen English native tree that makes such an impactful hedge! Good-looking regardless of the season with dense growth.Known as an 'all-rounder', Ilex aquifolium can do it all! Dark evergreen glossy foliage forms an idyllic privacy-inducing screen, with spiky-edged leaves, fragrant white spring flowers, and winter berries. An RHS Award of Garden Merit-holding variety, while also recommended as a 'Plant for Pollinators'.Plus, in winter, the evergreen foliage provides ample shelter for birdlife, who can feast on the red berries produced, and as a self-pollinating plant, you needn't worry about growing it near others. Please note, the berries are ornamental and shouldn't be eaten by humans or pets.Growing at a rate of 10-15cm each year, with just a trim needed around late winter to early spring, as the plant sits dormant. Try cutting a stem or two at the start of December, before the birds eat all the berries!Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, approximately 20-40cm tall, ready to plant.
