KEY FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS 08LSi is primarily used for welding austenitic stainless steel of type 304L, 304 & ferritic stainless steel of type 409 at low service temperature for automotive exhaust. However, it is recommended to use 308LSi for service temperature above 350C. The higher silicon Corrosion Resistance 308LSi has a corrosion superior to type 308L. When surfacing on mild steel a corrosion resistance equivalent to ASTM 304 is obtained at the first run.
