Seven: The Days Long Gone is a stealth RPG by the Polish studio Fool's Theory . Featured title is the first project of this team, but this does not mean that individual workers do not have any experience - on the contrary, the company employs people who previously worked on such blockbusters as The Witcher 2: Assassins of King and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Fool's Theory worked closely on the development of the game with IMGN.PRO who also acted as the publisher of Seven .
Story
The action takes place in the dark Empire of Vetrall - a power created on the ruins of an ancient civilization , which hundreds of years earlier was turned to ashes by a devastating war on a global scale, shifting humanity in technological development almost to the level of the Middle Ages. Players take on the role of a talented thief named Teriel . As a result of a series of unfortunate events during the last jump, the protagonist is sent to the prison island of Peh accompanied by the "demon" Artanak, which has settled in his mind. Teriel is to carry out a secret mission on which the fate of the entire Empire may depend.
Gameplay
The action in Seven: The Days Long Gone is shown in isometric projection, and the gameplay model largely resembles a stealth game . We move on the rooftops, silently sneak between the guards and disguise ourselves as enemies, and if necessary, attack by surprise. We also have a fairly extensive combat system at our disposal - including melee attacks combined into combos, shooting with a crossbow, throwing grenades, and even using supernatural powers - but Teriel's low durability means that getting into open conflicts is rarely a reasonable option.
Peh Island is an open world filled with attractions . The latter consists mainly of side quests and collectibles, which in Seven replace the traditional character development system - we do not buy new skills for experience points, but can be found in containers scattered around Peh. Another distinguishing feature of Sevencompared to the competition, there are multi-level locations, exploring which requires a bit of thought and use of the hero's acrobatic abilities. In addition, exploration is hampered by the fact that the island has been divided into visa zones - without the appropriate pass, Teriel must avoid contact with the guards. There are also threats in the form of bandits and mutant animals. The protagonist's chances of survival are increased by a fairly extensive crafting system, such as upgrading equipment and crafting helpful gadgets. Interestingly, blueprints for new crafting items also function as collectibles.
