Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey is another expansion pack for the space simulator Elite: Dangerous, which has been continuously developed since its official PC debut in 2014. Frontier Developments studio is responsible for the production of the title, the creation of which was financed through a fundraiser on the Kickstarter website. Odyssey is the most ambitious expansion in the history of production, introducing many options and functionalities awaited by fans for years and announced by developers many years before its premiere.
Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey is an extremely important step in the evolution of the title and brings it closer to the shape imagined by the creators at the beginning of the production process in 2012, when they were drawing plans for its possible future. In Odyssey, players leave the cockpit of their spacecraft for the first time and from the first person perspective, they can freely explore the surface of many explored planets. However, it does not end with ordinary walks. The creators offer a number of different missions using the full potential of the new functionality of the game. During them, we talk to many NPCs and travel through various locations. There are diplomatic and trade tasks waiting for the players, as well as scenarios that require stealth and direct combat with the use of a rich arsenal and equipment. The duels do not differ from what other popular first-person shooters have got us used to. All of this takes place, of course, in a fully open world that is also inhabited by other participants of the game. Thanks to designated hubs/meeting places, we can join forces with them, creating groups in which we jointly perform contracts and tasks, and even establish alliances with other clans.
Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey drastically changes the look and functionality of the title. The creators rebuilt the game engine, introducing previously absent gameplay mechanics and technology that allows you to play in FPS mode. Also noteworthy is the mass of visual novelties, such as additional ship models, animations, as well as buildings and structures that we visit during trips to foreign planets.
