The arctic puffin is among the most beloved animals in the northernhemisphere. Not only because their charming looks. But because theyhave a central position in the North Atlantic culture andself-understanding as well. Each year, millions of puffins travel backto the place where they were once hatched themselves. Here theyreproduce, raise their off-spring, and then return to the solitarylife far out on the open sea. Just to do it all over again thefollowing year. Today the puffin is a vulnerable animal species whosepopulation is endangered. Therefore, many countries have introducedvisit restrictions in the puffin’s nesting areas. This has had avery positive impact on the raising population. These photographs areintended as a reminder of how important it is that we protect naturefor future generations to enjoy. This piece only exists in 25 copiesand comes in three sizes. When the piece is sold out, it will never beprinted again. However, this does not mean we won’t ever use thislocation again for new exciting photographs.
