The production of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the responsibility of the Japanese studio Falcom, known in its homeland primarily from the hugely popular series of Ys games, several parts of which were also released in the US and Europe on the PSP console. Trails in the Sky is the first part of the new trilogy in The Legend of Heroes series and was first released in Japan on PCs in 2004, while two years later its port on PSP hit the store shelves, and in 2012 on PlayStation 3. Story Ten years before the game's story began, the kingdom of Liberl in which it takes place was attacked by the overwhelming forces of the Erebonian empire. However, thanks to the dedication and courage of the defending troops under the command of Cassius Wright, it was possible to dislodge and defeat the invader in a few weeks. After the war, Cassius decides to give up his honors and positions in the army, becoming a member of the Bracer guild, which brings together adventurers. The main character of the game is sixteen-year-old Estelle Bright, daughter of the legendary Liberl defender, who, like her father, wants to become a licensed adventurer. To achieve their goal, together with their half-brother Joshua, they embark on a dangerous journey. On their way, they will meet many new friends and enemies, and discover political intrigues and court plots that threaten the kingdom.
