The title is the developer's first project, which was created after Chmielarz left the People Can Fly studio together with several associates when it was still part of the American Epic Games.StoryThe sources of inspiration for the creators of the production were weird fiction, pulp horror films and horror stories from the beginning of the last century (such as works by HP Lovecraft). The story is driven by the title mysterious disappearance of Ethan Carter, a little boy who was most likely kidnapped by unidentified perpetrators. The protagonist of the game is trying to find his trail - Paul Prospero, a private detective with paranormal abilities. Following the child's footsteps, he ends up in Red Creek Valley - a beautiful mountain valley in the Midwest of the United States - where he finds the horribly mutilated bodies of Ethan's kidnappers. With the help of modern detective tools and his own abilities, the protagonist must unravel the dark mystery of murders and learn about the fate of a lost child.GameplayThe Vanishing of Ethan Carter offers a vast, open world designed for casual and unhurried exploration .
