Lock's Quest is an original genre hybrid, combining elements characteristic of RTS , RPGs and tower defense productions. The production debuted in 2008 on the Nintendo DS console, and years later it got a remastered version, released on personal computers, stationary consoles and mobile devices. The New York-based Digital Continue studio is responsible for its development.
Story
Action Lock's Quest takes place in a fantasy world. The main character - the title Lock - is one of the so-called Archineers. Representatives of this profession devote themselves to the study of the mysterious resource known as the Source. On the basis of this substance, an entire kingdom functions, which one day is attacked by the Clockwork army under the command of Lord Agony . The events we take part in take place over 75 days of warfare taking place in different parts of the land.
Gameplay
Each of the 75 days of conflict means a new battle in Lock's Quest . The game was divided into two phases: preparation and combat. In the first one, the player's task is to build defense towers in the vicinity of sacred artifacts, which must be protected against the temptations of enemies. The combat potential of individual buildings differs depending on the materials used - we have at our disposal, among others, stone, wood and metal. If we want to win, we also have to set traps - we can install, among other things, quicksand and cannons that fire projectiles that slow down the enemies they hit. Then it is time for the proper clash, in which Lock also takes an active part - during the skirmishes he uses a wide range of attacks, effective both against single opponents and against groups of opponents. In addition, simple mini-games have been implemented here, which are launched when we repair damaged structures. As we are successful, we earn money to buy new, more powerful items.
